as said. thanks in advance.

no .

From what I heard, no. But call admissions to find out. I’m sure they’d love to hear from some random person that because their friend is better than them in every single way they always have to be the loser in the group whine that they weren’t able to win any awards because the same person won them all and they happen to be from the same school.

Even if you are compared to people from the same school, what difference does it make? If your friend deserves UCLA more than you, what do you care about his/her acceptance?

ELC plays a major effect in UC admissions.

Look at the numbers, UCLA and UCB have a 60% for ELC applicants. Some of them have an auto accept, such as Davis.

ELC is the highest top 4% (GPA-wise) of your senior class… so it’s technically a comparison.

dinoian: WOW. i was just wondering. jesus christ. but thanks for assuming i’m a loser who complains that my friends have won more awards from me. if my friend deserves UCLA more than me, i’d be MORE than happy for that friend since i’ll be better at a place i do belong. some of you are such *******s on here.

thanks incognito123 for actually giving helpful information.

I got to see a friend reading applications (he’s a freshmen app. reader for UCLA) and yes, you are definitely judged against the rest of your school, though not against other applicants from your school (because the readers don’t know about those–they look at one app at a time and move on). Aim for top 15% in your school.
