For guys only...and lesbians.

Ok. Before I start off I would just like to clarify some things. I am not a misogynist. I do not harbor feelings of anger/resentment/fear etc etc towards women. I do not have an exgirlfriend I'm bitter towards because she slept with my best friend/slept with my dad/slept with my worst enemy etc... And I was not abused by my mom or any other older female. :)
I could go on for a while but you get the point. So to sum up, I have no ill-will towards women. So please don't interpret this thread the wrong way.

Ok. Now to the question. I'm a foreign student and uhhmm... from what I have heard in my life so far (from popular media etc), American girls are very...how shall I put it...well travelled? ie. easy.

Anyways, just out of curiosity, how much does the reality match the fictitious portrayals?

PS. Don't send me hate mail, ok? This is a serious question.

some of them are.

some of them are not.

same is true for guys.

it's pretty fictitious. Unlike much of the world, the US is still very much grounded in a prudish, puritanical ethic. Sex can be really taboo to a lot of people, and people have trouble being physical without necessarily being emotional.
It's the same with the big stigma against pot and drinking that european and south american countries don't have as much. Despite that though, college is definitely less prudish than other parts of american culture. Also, the NE and especially the west coast is more open to sexual expression.

There's probably just as much sex going on here as anywhere, but people are less willing to talk about it and explore.

that's just my opinion, i'm sure it varies with experiences. I'm of Argentine heritage, and in Buenos Aires, its way more open. Like...in the US people go out to party @ around 10pm, and come back at 3/4 (and that's a late night) while in Europe, or even Buenos Aires, people go out at 1/2 am, come back at 7/8 am, and there's less binge drinking going on.

^^^ aupa!! ok, so i'm from spain, right? 3 day long parties!! WHOOO!!! in bilbao we call it gaupasa ;)

but yes, people find it so odd here that i'm really open about sexuality. not "easy" but just very open. i don't hide things concerning people the human body and relationship intricacies.

the thing i would have to disagree is that the US is prudish. i think that because of the culture here, the sex and whatnot is very much behind closed doors. In agreeance with you, it's not something that is typically talked about.

Just like in pretty much any country in the world, it's a mix. There will be some that are easy and some that are not.

I personally found European girls (spain england etc) a lot more willing to put out, however american girls dress more revealingly.
