For incoming OOS students

Anyone I CC going to UCSD as an OOS student? I know that only about 3% of the people who are accepted to UCSD are OOS, am I the only one here?

Well I have 2 questions to ask:
1. I am in Nevada and am planning to become a CA resident ASAP. About how long do you need wait before establishing CA resident? Is one year enough considering that I will be emancipated this summer living as an independent individual (before that I had always been a dependent)?
2. How much do you pay for college including financial aid and where do you suggest in getting loans from?

Man, if I have to pay for 2 years OOS tuition, that'd suck.

I think if you show proof of bills and that you work/vote in CA, you're fine? I heard someone did that.

I think the best idea is to call them.

I, personaly, just gained California citizenship on my senior year of high school just for tution purposes.

In your cases, you would need to have lived in California with the intent to make it your permanent residence. Ways to establish intent are getting cali license, registering to vote, etc.

I warn you though, because you are going to be a student here in california, it might be tad more difficult because residence deputies will see it only for tuition purposes and not true intent to stay.

Heres a link to information:

Current Students: Criteria to Establish Residence for Tuition Purposes

I am certain that I'd show enough intention in wanting to become CA resident. This is so because I really like CA and I will provide more than 5 items listed under the indication of intending to become CA resident.

My only worry right now is that it says you must be financially independent for 2 years. For me, does this mean I have to be independent for at least 2 years before becoming a CA resident? I might know the answer, but I just want to confirm.

bump, please help me out, i need some tips from you guys
