For those in the PA-NJ-Del area: Just wanted to let you all know that there will be a Parents Club meeting in Philadelphia on Sat. March 10 that will provide info for all KP candidates or prospective candidates. There will be at least one admissions rep there, plus one or more alumni, and probably some current midshipmen. If you are interested in this, PM me and I'll send you more info. Includes lunch!

This is always a very informative meeting and has helped some prospects make a decision about attending Kings Point. There should be some good information about what to expect when you get there, and also what happens after you graduate, which is a mystery to a lot of people until you get there (or your son/daughter does!).

Gee wish there was one in Virginia or northern part of North Carolina!

You should contact the Southern Virginia Parents Club to see if there are any meetings you can attend. The contact info is on the USMMA Parents page under 'Local Parents Associations'. Lots of times the club is unaware of all of the candidates until much later in the spring, when they start organizing their 'Plebe Picnics' or 'Welcome Aboard' parties. It's hard to get info on individuals from the Admissions Office at this time of year before all appointments are issued and/or accepted.

I've already contacted them and are on the email list. Minor problem is that the chapter is about 5 hours away from me on the other side of the state. I'm actually closer to North Carolina (Raleigh/Winston-Salem, Greensboro) area than eastern Virginia.... but of course would attend if and when they have anything scheduled.

Thanks for the info!
