For international (or out of state) people who are attending MIT

Ok, so this is really for Harvard SSP, but what are you guys planning to to after you arrive at the airport? I don't know anyone who lives there. And it is kind of dangerous for a 15 year old girl to ride a taxi by herself, isn't it?

well for internationals, there's supposed to be a shuttle service at Logan Airport I think - so we inform MIT when we're expected to arrive. Or you can look up Harvard seniors you might know and get them to meet you at the airport?

I know a few Harvard graduates, and one that's going back in "September." I don't know any undergrades though...

Taxi? Dangerous? I shouldn't think so.

When I came to Boston for my college visit (farm girl's first time in the big city), taxis were the only place I felt safe -- the T scared me half to death.

Taxis in Boston are licensed through the city, and so far as I know they are very safe.

I personally think it's dangerous because my friend's aunt has been kidnapped once by a taxi driver. It was S.C.A.R.Y.

i took the T instead of the Taxi. Haha...i wanted to save $40.

But taking the T with all that luggage? I've done it, and let's just say I got to my destination only because of the kindness of random strangers ;)

omg! I know what you mean. hahaha....i was able to get up those stairs because someone from behind pushed my luggage up.

I've done it three times so far....go me! I'm used to it now, but I wouldn't recommend it, taffy.

i take the t with luggage to the airport and south station pretty often, tho it is admittedly a bit of a hassle. i wouldn't say the taxis are unsafe, although this summer (when escorting a high school friend from logan to SSP, actually) i realized you need to carefully specify harvard college, undergrad, or else they'll think you mean harvard business school, which is across the river and not useful.

ponders i could possibly be contracted to carry heavy objects and escort hapless new-to-boston folks, should you happen to become incredibly desperate. i've been thinking about a career as an escort, as it happens.

goddess -- haha, I won't be carrying alot of stuff since it is only for 6 weeks. Thanks for the offer though. I think I'll go with the T, but not totally positive yet.
