<p>I thought the whole point of applying to two colleges is that if you’re rejected at the first one, they’ll send your application to the second school for evaluation, so you would have another chance at admission?</p>
<p>No. The point is if the first one doesn’t think you are a good fit but thinks the second one might accept you, they will possibly send your application over.</p>
<p>It’s not a “Everyone that put down 2 colleges gets 2 chances.” They are very rarely sent to the secondary college.</p>
<p>I wouldn’t apply to 2 colleges if I were you. </p>
<p>1) From what I heard, only like 5% of the people who apply to two colleges are actually considered for their 2nd choice
2) Cornell has 7 admission committees for each of the 7 colleges. I personally think applying to 2 colleges shows you aren’t loyal to your primary college, which would possibly prompt the primary admissions committee to reject you.</p>
