For Parents: Why we (kids) want to go to boarding school...

I (along with many others) have struggled with parents who aren't into the whole idea of boarding school. For students who truly care about their education, public school can be incredibly frustrating. Having already experienced a year of public high school, I am incredibly motivated to get out.

Simply put my school is out of control. Even in the "advanced" classes, students can get out of control ( heating gummy bears on bunson burners, walking in and out of class without permission, singing/screaming soulja boy in the middle of lessons).

I dream of a school where I can find an unlocked bathroom, free of nicotine clouds and sinks not polluted with chewing tobacco. I dream of a school where all students show respect for the school, their teachers, and each other. A school where teachers are passionate about what they teach, and who are truly interested in educating their students.

I suggest anyone who is struggling to win their parents support, to show them this YouTube - Stupid in America. It is a documentary called "Stupid in America". A news program gave students in the "best public schools", cameras, to film what actually goes on. They also compare the education system here to those abroad.

Of course not everyone may feel this way about public school. I am just giving a very generalized idea. Not all public school teachers/students are without passion or care, just making a comparison to boarding school...

oh WOW. I supposedly go to a "ghetto" school and it isn't that bad. well, except the drive-by we had the other day plus the gangs

Violence in schools is incredibly distracting even when your not involved.

true, that's why i sit infront, gives me an excuse to be a nerd ;)

Wow, thanks for interesting youtube vid.

BTW, I'd like to remind everyone that Korea is NOT poor. :)

please, Korea is soooo not a 3rd world country
