For Penn students-- your favorite professor

Could current Penn students share what professors you particularly enjoyed taking classes from, so applicants like me can know who are great teachers etc.? I mean, I can find stuff on what professors have done, but it’s really hard to know the personality of a professor (without knowing anyone that actually has gone there), so any input would be helpful.

Thanks

bump.. anyone?

Prof. John DiIulio is amazing. He teaches American Politics (a popular course for freshman)...he was the Director of Pres. Bush's faith-based initiative program and is an all-star prof. w/ unbelievable political connections. The man knows everyone from the President to judges to media elites. Plus, he's an amazing lecturer who is really passionate about the subject matter, and he loves to teach!

Yes, any Wharton students have a Penn professor they would like to recommend? It would be greatly appreciated :)

professor harrington, in the wharton health care systems / insurance and risk management department

I heard there is this psychology teacher that EVERYONE loves. Of coures this may not be true..

that would be shatte, but i am told his teaching status is changing? or he's not teaching this coming semester at least...

does anyone else have any opinions?

avery goldstein (PSCI) is spectacular.

Hurst and Hejtmanek are spectacular in the somewhat more narrow field of Asian studies....

Shatte has left Penn.

^^ isn't he coming back next semester

Shatte wasn't on the tenure-track. He was a lecturer. After his contract was up, either he or the university decided not to renew it.

I was in his class last semester. From what he told us, he is now in Arizona running some sort of business consulting company.
