as you all know, emory does not require teacher rec, so on the CommonApp, in the school forms, it indicates "no evaluations required"...

however, my counselor did submit the "school report", but there is still a gray dot next to the "school forms", does anybody know that it means?? does emory take the counselor's report? the gray dot makes me feel that emory might not have downloaded counselor's report...

Did your counselor submit it through mail or on the Common App website? Regardless or where she turned it in, you have to select someone for the Counselor rec so Common App sends an email to your counselor asking for a rec. You can't turn in your application without doing this.

I also have a grey dot, but next to it says "Offline" so for me, my counselor mailed all of my forms months ago. I called to see if they had everything in my file and they said that they did, so maybe you should just check in with them to find out whether they received everything. I wouldn't worry about it, just call to check...

They grey means that your counselor/whoever sent your stuff via mail, instead of online. You should be fine.

It's the same for my school. All my teachers send recs by mail so all my teachers/counselor have a grey spot next to their names on the common app.
