when you speak toadvisor, is that when you pick classes

er, you see your advisor all day on the second day of orientation, but you’re sure to start registering for classes by the time you’ve entered the computer lab room and are seated at a computer

which will at least be by 1 pm, although there’ll be a line

I am ready to sign up for classes. >:[ I have my list ready and everything!

do you get a list of the courses you’re supposed to sign up for.

They give you a gray packet but it’s kinda outdated, but during registering they give you access to the schedule of classes website

As for peeps who already came up with one, that’s a definite good idea

Myself, I did the same thing but I ended up signing up for the CNAS Learning Community thing, and my schedule was entirely different.

In short, people may change their minds about their schedule between the beginning of orientation and when they register for classes

no but you get a list of suggestions or recommended path but you dont have to follow it. For BCOE, the students were independent in choosing their classes and we did not get 1 on 1 time with the adviser.

The lame thing was that i went on the first day but ENGLISH 001C was already full. i was like ***? so you need to have alternative plans

do you know what the recommended one is for bioenginnering?

Hmmm. Are most of you guys planning to take 4 classes? Is having 3 classes in one day HARDCORE?! Or… is it manageable? x.x

I wanted to take 4 classes which was Anthropology, Math 9B, Honors Ethics and College Study(half a class), Intro to EE(half a class), and English 001C but English was full and i put myself on the waiting list. Im also thinking about just taking another breath course to meet the 4 classes.

Now for your real question, i think you should spread out your class just a bit. Your classes with also have discussion classes that you will have to enroll in. Having all classes in one day can also mean having midterms in same day and i dont think you would want that. The BCOE counselors actually suggested taking 3 classes in the first quarter to get yourself settled in but i want to take 4 lol

hmm. x.x i guess i’ll do 2/2. so far my draft looks OK. I’m planning to take anth too. (:

yeah, they said to keep it balanced

One guy I met ended up having three lectures and a lab in one day, which sounds pretty crazy

huh, the whole midterm exams thing sounds scary as hell…
luckily I only have at most two lectures on any one day :D

@telunatic - I feel like I’m competing against you or something with posts…
since it’s just us right now
lols >_>

if i do 014 dis, i will have 3 (2 lec/ 1 dis) classes back to back! D;

would it be a good idea to take math and then have the math lca right after? x.x

Dunno. The math lectures are kind inflexible on times, since there’s only so many of them, while the discussions are all over the schedule

but I wouldn’t really know…

Seeing that it’s a discussion I’d say it’s better to have some time between, so that you can sorta prepare for it, having gone over the lecture earlier

that is a good idea. i didnt think of preparing questions xD lol

for me… it’s either right after class or late afternoon.

my discussion is right between the two lectures
discussion is W lectures are T R

well, my schedule’s kinda weird cuz I have a discussion right before a lecture for my chem class, lol

I didn’t really get to choose it though

are you guys both honors? :0

im choosing anth mwf (:

I’m not honors, I got to the orientation through the chancellor’s scholarship

Im in honors. i was hoping to get chancellors scholarship but i applied late :/
