I had admit as a Biz Econ with GPA 3.9, but this semester and max i could reach is 3.5...
3A, 1B(calculus 3, 5units) 1C(anthro Lab, 1 unit),, dont know if i m in a dangerous situation or not.. freaking out.. UCLA is the only UC i want to go... anyone can post their comment..feel free to share ur situation.

In my opinion a difference of .4 is negligible and probably wouldn’t matter.
I got accepted with a uc transferrable gpa of 4.0 and I’m taking 1 class right now. If I got a B my gpa this semester would be 3.0! I highly doubt they would rescind my acceptance.

I m freaking out becux i just recieved this email from UCLA that i had ask a questino about this GPA issue:

Hello,

“Good academic standing” means that you were not dismissed from the school nor do you owe any money that would prevent your records from being released. This doesn’t have anything to do with your GPA.

However, you are asked to maintain the same GPA that you were admitted with. If you read the Provisional Admission Contract, there is a clause referring to maintaining your GPA.

Sincerely,

UCLA Undergraduate Admissions & Relations with Schools

they are ask to maintain the same GPA that i had admitted with… this sound kinda rediculous… anyone had any comment?

Yikes… that letter sucks.

However, I have never heard of someone getting their app rescinded because they got a C or two during their last semester.

I think this is just a scare tactic to persuade applicants to finish strong, but noting bad will happen if your GPA drops to a 3.2 from a 3.9 ave.

i know… but still… i m so nervous and that is the reason i m holding my SIR to UCLA cux if i submit SIR to UCLA, and end up they rescinde me… i can not submit SIR to other UC… which eventually i need to stay in community college for 1 more year… that is one thing i m worrying now…

you are trippin’

Your C is in a one-unit lab, so it shouldn’t bring down your cumulative GPA by anything more than a small fraction, especially if your other grades will be three A’s and one B. When they say you need to maintain your GPA it should mean your overall GPA, not that the GPA you get this semester needs to be a 3.9. I really doubt you’re in a dangerous situation.

i have a 3.65 and this semester isn’t going quite well, getting 1 B and 2 C’s and the lowest my overall gpa would drop to is 3.30 if i got 3 c’s. Would my admissions get rescinded if i get 2 c’s?

hey guys, im thinking of dropping my linear algebra class with a W. the teacher completely sucks and i want to take it in the summer. im a math/econ major and was wondering if you think UCLA would rescind me… and also have you heard of anyone reporting a class change and still got accepted?
