I'm really curious. In the event that you don't get in ED, what are your backup schools? I'm still looking for schools to apply to, so if you don't mind, I'd appreciate you just saying where you're planning to apply to and what you would like to study. Thanks a lot!

Stanford, Harvard, MIT,Dartmouth, Brown, Williams, Middlebury, Swarthmore, Connecticut, Brandies, Wesleyan, Trinity Coll, St. Lawrence, St. Johns

columbia, upenn, stanford (not necessarily "backups", but i'm applying)

stanford. harvard mit caltech yale williams UC Berkeley

Computer science / history / filmmaking

Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Berkeley.. :]
Well, I would be VERY VERY happy to be in one of those schools too.

Cornell (not really a "back-up", but it's on there)
Oberlin
University of Rochester
SUNY Geneseo (I might not bother applying. If this was the only school I got into, I'd probably leave the country anyway.)

My most likely majors are either music theory or math.

5 impossible-to-get-into, then U of Michigan, Brandeis, and Whitman as backup

Yale, MIT, UPenn, WashU in St. Louis, Notre Dame, Northwestern

Hmmm, I'm the only one with no other Ivys...
Amherst, Swarthmore, Williams, Haverford, Middlebury, Wellesley, Smith, Bryn Mawr, Vassar.
None of the other Ivys "fit my bill"!

btlesgirl, I applaud you.

you clearly aren't influenced by the "NAME-GAME" or prestige brands. you obviously like small, liberal arts skoolz

My list is:
Princeton
Stanford
Berkeley
Caltech
Harvey Mudd
UCSD

I was going to apply to CMU and Cornell, but CMU is stingy when it comes to financial aid, and I don't like Cornell's name.

"I don't like Cornell's name."

lol.

Princeton, Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, Penn (Wharton), Dartmouth, NYU, Rutgers, TCNJ

hrm. My second top school is Columbia, then Washington U, then a bunch of lowly safeties >_>

hmm... Yale, columbia, NYU, and a bunch of safeties

probably Columbia, Chicago, Penn, Swat, Amherst, Hopkins, Duke

same, except amherst

for me, the same ones as everyone else pretty much:
dartmouth
upenn
harvard
cornell
stanford
vassar

and i'm guaranteed admission to utexas austin, so that's my ultimate backup.

I'm thinking:

Haverford
Williams
Harvard (maybe)
Georgetown
Middlebury
Colgate
Wesleyan
Davidson

Let's see:

I applied over a month ago to UMich (rolling). Other than that:

Cornell
Penn
Dartmouth
Northwestern
Lehigh
BU
Harvard

I know my list has a ton of variety in terms of size, but I like each school for different reasons and couldn't give them up.

BU and Mich are my safeties, Lehigh and Northwestern my matches (and apparently Cornell too lol), and Penn, Harvard, Dartmouth, and Princeton are my reaches. I wasn't going to apply to Harvard, but I figured: what the heck. if I get in there and not into Princeton, I may have to settle. :p
