For Prospective Students!!

I have. Why do you ask?

Everyone says it’s gorgeous & that it looks exactly like the viewbook. is this true?

Depends on when you visit… it’s really beautiful though

do you think i still have a chance if my scores are ok but not amazing, but i have a very strong foreign language background? do you think they have a cut off for scores? (even though they obviously say they don’t)

I hope it’s all I hope for.
I think it has a lot to do with where you’re from geographically, you’re gpa, and essays. if you interviewed well and have a high gpa then i don’t see why not. But I’m not an admissions officer.

I must have visited campus about 34987234 times, seeing as I’m lucky enough to live an easy 45 minute drive away! It’s absolutely gorgeous, better than the pictures, especially in the fall…wait…no, it’s that beautiful year round :)

thankfully I got a response from admissions saying I was right and my scores were under a different name. so relieved
that article both scares and excites me…i’m happy about the fact that they’re giving a lot of attention to rec’s and essays, and to diversity, and upset about the fact that they first look at “academic credentials”. while my test scores make the cut, i’m afraid my average gpa won’t :frowning: well all we can do is wait & hope now…

i actually dont think midd is that “diverse” as i thought. while many colleges like midd say that they have int’l students from 70 or more countries, they ignore the regional differences in a certain country and take it for granted that an int’l student simply means diversity. Say they have Russian students but all from Moscow or St Petersburg, no one from Siberia or Caucasus region, and even so the admitted students went to UWC or int’l schools in their area. in my country students getting into a college like midd without FA tend to come from “privileged background”(and actually from the same high school in a developed area). So even though they are “int’l students”, they are not so “diverse” in terms of social class, academic experiences or whatsoever. perhaps I just simply can’t equal geographical diversity to “diversity” in my understanding. Just saying…

what is the email address to contact the admissions office??

i sent my email to both applications@middlebury.edu & admissions@middlebury.edu and got a response from someone. so it’s one of those

I hope everyone’s applications are going well.
I checked on mine the other day, it’s in the process of being reviewed.

What’s everyone’s potential major?

undecided! and waiting until college to figure it out on purpose

i don’t think i can get an interview… i called today and they told me that if i haven’t been contacted it means there’s nobody that does interviews in my area. strange thing is that my teacher went to midd

I’m pretty an alum has to ask/apply to be an interviewer, and you cannot previously know anyone that is a potential interviewer and vice versa. Also my mom applied to be an interviewer last year but isn’t allowed this year to conduct interviewers because I, her daughter, am an applicant.

BTW my first choice for a major is HISTORY! I’m thinking concentration in American History. I also like anthropology and want to take advantage of language courses (French and German) if I go :D

Well an interview isn’t required so just believe that your application will get reviewed holistically.

I want to major in Bio. I ultimately want to go to med school, so that would be a good start. And probably have a minor in women and gender studies, I always felt as if women in history and gender is sometimes surpassed or even viewed with much bias.

Hey guys, just started using CC. I’m starting to get seriously nervous. December 17th can’t come quick enough. I too want to major in history with a minor in philosophy or psychology and hopefully take that to grad school.

Welcome!
You’ll find this website very resourceful and full of knowledge.

my grades might be a lil low, but my act is 32 which is solid and I’m getting recruited for the baseball team (I met the coach and he told me is gonna help me as much as he can) so hopefully thats enough…

Hey I am applying to Midd. for ED two, im pretty nervous as well but my brother went to Midd, in you opinion how much will that help? Oh, I am also a foreign language student who is conversational in chinese and plans to major in East Asian studies. Thanks! Good luck!
