should I put down mine, or my school's or my teachers?

I'm curious too. My best guess is that you put down the school address.

bump
anybody know

I put my home address, but who knows.

I put my address on one set, but left the other set blank.

I put my home address....now that I think about it I should of have done the school address, but I sent it all together. I don't think it matters significantly, don't they have a mail room staff that separates everything and puts it in a folder for the adcoms?

Hmm...well, I just got through doing them, and found out that the school has to use its own official envelopes. So basically, they'll be doing all of the addressing and will decide what return address to use (which will obviously be the school's). I just provided the teachers with a list of the schools' addresses.

I tried to give them addressed/stamped envelopes at first, but had to throw them away b/c they have to do everything with their stationary. So I don't think yall should even have to worry about what return address to use.

No, you are supposed to put the schools address as it is coming from a teacher or guidance counselor, not from you. If the teachers give them to you to send out, you still should not put your home address because they are supposed to come straight from the teacher and you are not supposed to see them. Otherwise, the colleges know that the teachers wrote them keeping in mind that you would read them, whcih would bias the teachers.

You should use the address of your recommender at your high school. I'm pretty sure that they use some sort of school letterhead or stationary or something to denote that they are, in fact, teachers at your high school. When we request recommendations, we are instructed to put the return address like so on the envelopes:

Name of Teacher
Course (for example: AP/IB English III)
Address of the High School
City, State, Zip
Teacher's classroom phone number
Teacher's school email address

That's what we are required to do, anyway.

Oops. Guess I'm getting rejected, then. (:

I just put my HS's address.

for my school, the counselor part of the rec is done all by counseling office-- all we need to give them are the forms.

for the teacher part of the recs, i simply put:
Name of Teacher
School Address

My friend who got in to every college except 1 that she applied to last year told me she put her own name & return address on them, and so that's what I did :-D
