For some of you, you'll be surprised.

:O $40,000,000??? that’s a lot of money. Mine pays nothing, and is still in debt

I like how people are screwed if they get into debt, but cities/counties/states/feds just keep on borrowing…from us.

I scored 1500+ on the Math + VR part of the test and I think this is ridiculous. What a bunch of nonsense, test prep can easily give someone higher scores. And 4 years later, its not like this person can retake the SAT.

What a bunch of crap.

The teachers teach because they get tenure, have a union that gives them huge amounts of salary, get lots of leave, have an easy job (newsflash—not that many of them actually teach), and can retire at (I think) 55 with a pension plus all sorts of benefits. I say that we should layoff people…and start with the VP’s in schools, then the GC’s. Maybe just in my school…but then, it’s possible that the VP/GC’s in other schools are infinitely better than mine.

Yes, California. The state where schools make you come to school for finals, regardless of whether you have an actual final, so they can get their $38 a head for attendance.

[/completely justified (IMO) rant]

Sweet, I’d like to see my 1580 go to good use.

IQ proxies ftw.

Aren’t SAT scores supposed to be invalid after 3 years? It doesn’t make sense for them to matter after college.

Do jobs really need to stick their noses in SAT scores? SAT scores don’t really correlate with what job you get to begin with.

Ah, it only makes sense if you’re trying to be a tutor for the SATs at a company or online. Then maybe it’ll make sense for those kind of employers to ask us what we got.

But it shouldn’t be used for such places that deal with sales or finance.

This is ****ing stupid. Whats the point of going to college then?

too learn stuff? haha

I guess you could just chill at the library for 4 years [shrugs]

The other 95+% of your resume. Which they won’t totally disregard…

You go to college to get the *&(^(& of high school out of your head. :D

LOL, I tend to exaggerate when something irritates me.
I still think it is stupid, though. It would be a lot better if they gave you a SAT-like test when you apply for a job.

Yeah this is stupid, I got a 1540 and that alone makes me NO more qualified than anyone else out there. (Well I am more qualified but not because of my SAT score  )

Does anybody here think that if you have taken the SAT couple of times already and they weren’t good, would you be p!ssed off if you rewinded the history 6 years later since CB doesn’t erase the scores off your database?

Uhh… most people in Michigan don’t even take the SAT. We take the ACT. What a load of crap. How you did in college is a MUCH better indicator of your abilities than how you did on a test at 16/17.

bump…
