For someone who's using multiple common app versions - how does it work?

So I heard that it will give you the option of choosing from the two versions...

But how does that work, exactly?

If you've already sent supplements in and submit the common app, will it automatically be sent to those schools? Can you make a different version and submit it to those schools instead?

I guess I'm just wondering if its possible to change which version of the common app the school is receiving?

Once you’ve submitted the commonapp to a certain school, it cannot be changed for that particular school. but you can create an alternate version to be sent in the future, for other schools.

Do you have to submit the common app to each school individually, or does it send automatically?

So, does this mean that I can submit my application to CMU on March 1st and then update my common app personal statement for Cornell on March 15th?

Thanks.

Ellie7: You can submit each version of the Common App to as many schools as you like, except ones that you’ve already submitted an older version to.

bokuwa: I’m assuming your Cornell application has been turned in already? In that case, you will not be able to edit that version of the app. Contact Cornell directly.

Actually, neither application has been submitted yet.

In that case, yes. You will be able to make another copy and edit the statement.

Thanks.
