For the deferred...

I just got mail ten minutes ago and I am deferred. I'm not gonna lie, but I was sort of sad. Now, however, I've calmed down and decided to say something for the deferred--
1. It is an honor to be deferred from Princeton (though, of course, a bigger honor to be accepted)
2. This year, there were 2267 ED applicants, and I don't know the numbers, but besides the 597 students accepted, I think some 200 get deferred. Out of these 200, I'd estimate about 50 people get admitted into RD.
So there is still hope, no matter how slim it is. So good luck on not just Princeton RD but also your other schools as well!

Agreed!
But I think a much larger % are deferred. Many more are deferred than are rejected, I've heard.
Also, where did you get the 597 number?

yeah, i believe more people get deferred than rejected :0 but yay hope!

I read on some other thread that in the previous years it was about 5% rejected?

I don't know if that's true.
Not my words anyway, someone else's.

The 200 is what I heard from some other person, however, the 597 is from Princeton's website under headlines.

200 isn't right...I'd say around 1500-1600 are deferred.

whats the rate of getting in for people who are deferred???

I called today and they wouldnt tell me numbers on percentages such as those mentioned in this topic.

your original numbers are way off

the real deferal count was between 1500 and 1600

by the way
the admissions officers take note of the fact that you applied ed, they already know that pton was your first chioce, and that knowledge plays a role, even if a small one, in decisions. And yes, deferies do have a higher percentage rate for rd acceptances, i cant quote a specific article but ive seen it before and have reasons why.
the ed deferies are now 1600 out of 17000 but they are some of the strongest applicants
they know you LOVE pton
and plenty of them are ccer's who wouldnt want us?

and of course GOOD LUCK TO ALL MY FELLOW DEFERIES!!

yeah, i realized my numbers were off...sorry. good luck to all deferrees.
However, does no one seriously have the acceptance rate for ED in RD pool?
