i have repeated and repeated my unique situation and NO ONE was able to answer me in satisfying manner.

i am tranfering in one year with art history major (for which i did not complete maj. req. because some are not offered at cc); tap; igetc; some ec's; an essay that is superb.

what is the diference between regular two year transfer and one-year transfer in the uc system?

also, if a course is not articulated, does that mean the particular uc will not count it to fulfill the unit requirement?

I have 2 friends that did UCLA transfer in 1 year as a junior and it didnt seem like they would look at you differently as long as you meet the unit requirement. If a particular major pre-req is not offered at your CCC, then all you do is take that course when you transfer over i believe. If a course is not transferrable then they will not count it toward the 60 semester unit/90 quarter units

your case is rare thats why some people cant answer it. Perhaps you should call the school that you applied to and see what they think about 1 year transfers.

I had the same issue with my CCC; I only have 1 of 4 pre-reqs articulated. I asked my counselor (one of the few that actually knows his stuff) and he told me they don't count it against you.

But, if you can take an on-line course from another CCC it would make you more competitive and save you a little extra time and money at a university.

sauronvaldemont, isn't it a little too late to be asking this question? This is something you should have brought up on these forums lonnngggg before the apps so that people can give you some good input.

But dude, why stress about it at this point? The apps are done. All you need to do now is to finish strong these last two semesters, and hope for the best.

Transfer after 1 year is fine. I did it. However, you MUST have the minimum units completed and you're best off having major and IGETC requirements out of the way to make sure you are competitive.

johnnzen,

Yes. I had tons of units, and many just disappeared. Don't worry.
