For the UC System, do you have to get a very good SAT subject score to "matter"

Mine:
790 SAT in chem
700 SAT in math level 1
640 SAT in molecular biology

SAT II requirements are different for each UC. As an example, Davis doesn’t require SAT II’s. By the way, when they require SATIIs, it is MATH level 2 they ask for.
Your chemistry score is excellent.

FYI
[UCSB Admissions](http://admissions.sa.ucsb.edu/selectionprocess.asp?section=selectionprocess&subsection=eligibility&selectiontype=prospective_freshman)

•UC no longer requires SAT subject tests, but certain programs on some campuses recommend them, and you can use subject tests to satisfy the “a-g” requirements listed above. Specifically, at UCSB, the College of Creative Studies recommends a SAT subject test related to an applicant’s chosen major. The College of Engineering recommends that all applicants take the Math 2 subject test.

UC does not accept Math 1.

Send 'em.
