For those accepted into UCLA...

Where are you guys from?

and are you definitely going to go there?

I'm from San Jose, CA and I think theres a 50:50 chance ill go there, depending on whether or not I get into UVA.

Independence High?

i'm from Nor Cal ... its on my list, i definitely feel good about my options now. i'm not sure if i'll go though, it depends on if i get into harvard/MIT/Stanford/UCB (fat chance lol.. but those are my reaches)

I'm from Nevada. I was not expecting to be accepted at all so I wasn't even thinking about coming to UCLA but right now my list is down to UCLA, U. of Miami, and USC (haven't gotten a decision to SC yet)

Wisconsin. Wow, didn't think i'd be accepted. Just visited for the first time last week. AMAZING PLACE. I still have some others in mind, but this is a great choice.

I'm from norcal!!!!!...UCLA is like #1 on my list..i cant believe this!

if i get a full ride from USC, then the decision between USC and UCLA will be tough! But that's probably blasphemy in this forum...

Also from Nor Cal. Im trying to decide between UCLA and UCSB with regents scholarship. What do you guys think?

Im in the same situation as you mb230. It really depends on what type of environment you want to be in. UCLA doesn't party as hard and you will probably perform better academically at UCLA due to competition. UCSB is more of a party school. It depends on what you want from college. Personally, I would pick UCLA over UCSB anyday...

How's that blasphemy in this forum? If you prefer SC over LA, then you should attend the school you like (or if it comes down to cost and you're paying full for LA, then the obvious decision would be a full ride from SC)...

well i am a very social person and would prefer a party school. How is UCLA is terms of partying because i would rather go there if the party scene is good

I'm from South Pasadena, which is ten minutes away from Downtown LA-- AMERICAN APPAREL TOWN WHATUP

and i dont know about attending but i'm definitely psyched. It all depends on whether I get into Brown (um, probably not) or NYU.

still deciding between UCLA and USC...
(accepted to both, have quarter scholarship to USC)

i'm from santa barbara, california, and i'm definitely going to ucla. all of my really good friends got in too, we're so stoked!

as for the people trying to decide between ucla and ucsb...visit both, but i'd advice ucla--its such a good school, i dont think there's anything about ucsb that would make it worth choosing over ucla. but of course, i've lived here all my life, so it's nothing special to me. ucsb has the beach, tons of drinking, and stereotypically "dumb so cal" people. if you have any questions about the area itself, i can help with that, but i don't know too much about the school :)

im from norcal :-D mission san jose highh. but i really want berkeley but im so happy now i got ucla too :)

I'm from NorCal as well. I'm the same as funnyman. I'm up for full scholarship for USC, so if I get the full, I'm probably going to pick the free ride. :p Though I'm still holding out for the Ivies and Stanford.

i'm from orange county. ucla's my last choice because it's so close to where i live, yet not so close that i can commute.

Is it weird that i havent heard from UCI or Calpoly, but i've gotten in to UCLA?

which is more of a party school: UCLA or USC? Which one has smarter people?

ummmm

UCLA has smarter people... lol.

UCLA has a better ranking and I know that USC's statistics is raised by the fact that they offer academic scholarships to their applicants with high gpas and SATS.

I was offered a scholarship to USC so I visited them last week. Then I visited UCLA. UCLA seems more relaxed and, from my overnight visit, I got the impression that USC might party more than UCLA...

But my friend who goes to UCLA says in terms of partying and studying its a fair balance.

People are serious about their studies.

She said that typically she parties Thursday- Saturday and the rest of the week is work.

It's not a 24/7 party, but its definitely college life.

Personally, I don't want to go to a school that partys everyday of the week... I guess it depends on what you want
