For those accepted RD in 2008....

I want to hear directly from someone accepted last year about the orientation of the envelop. How thick, what size, etc? What information is enclosed: acceptance letter, financial aid package, ect? What do they send you later on? I want to know how quickly one would be able to accept their position after they received their acceptance letter. My friend who applied really needs to know her financial aid package before she would ever be able to accept. However, if she were waitlisted and she wanted to hold out and see if she got into GU SFS later on, does that mean she can't accept a spot at another college?

Thanks. =]

accepted ea,

it was a super-thin envelope. Scary thin! but it turned out alright…

well I know that EA are really thin, but I kind of assumed that they have time to send you other things later. However, my friend was wondering if RD acceptance envelops are bigger? We thought that they might put the financial aid package and other forms in the RD envelops since they lack time. Do applicants who are accepted get their financial aid package with their acceptance or at least before you make your admissions decision?

Most, if not all, colleges send their financial aid info before you are required to accept their offer of admission (May 1st). Most colleges send RD admission letters and financial info in the same envelope.

^Georgetown loves the small envelope… increased pressure.

My question was more along the lines of if someone is accepted, would they know of their financial aid package when they get their decision. I am asking this of RD accepted students from previous years because they have firsthand knowledge and don’t have to make guesses. If the financial aid packages don’t arrive then, when can accepted students expect them? Thanks for all the help. =]

I hate to keep asking this, but I didn’t really receive any clear answer or the type of answer I was seeking. I’d appreciate all your help. Thanks.

^Bumping this 'cause I’d also like a clearer answer.

Also just wondering, for those in the Northeast, how far off from the April 1st date did you receive letters? I know for EA, it was about two-three days earlier but is it the same for RD?
