The status page hasn’t changed for me. I was accepted to ILR today by letter.

Apparently…your online status will not chance to show acceptance or rejection until the official Ivy League notification date…March 31st!

But…from my experience with both rejection and acceptance (haha) here’s what they looked like:

Rejection-long grey box with the generic rejection statement
Acceptance-pretty picture of students on the quad and huge Welcome to Cornell!

I dnt care about how it looks…i just wanted to see if they made a decision about me and it was on its way in the mail…i hate snail mail

]What does your application status page say when you login to cornell’s self service website?

well…the way you phrased your question could have been perceived that way…hence I gave you a little bit of info…forgive me if it wasn’t what you wanted.

dnt get me wrong, i appreciate your help.

I just wanted to clarify what I wanted for future posters.

it looks the same, nothing on it changed.

My mailman (or possibly the local post office) loses alot of my mail…I tried sending a letter to Emory and they actually misread the envelope (idk how they can do that) and delivered it to the return adress (my adress)…The people at the post office apologized but they seemed accustomed to these types of mistakes…

I am not exagurating either…I ALAWAYS get other people’s mail and have to put it back in the mail box (or if it is my neighors’ I take it to them).

Bottom line: My mail is usually delayed 3-4 days, how am I suppose to know if Cornell sent me a letter.

Wait the 3-4 extra days.

sigh…(like I have another choice)

Like many of you I have spring break soon and I would really like it if I got accepted so I can go to visit cornell during that time.

When you log into the status check page, is that “accepted banner” right on the main page or do you have to click check status for it to show?

it will show on the main page…but nothing will show up online until March 31st

so I shouldn’t be looking for any banner now?

nothing on my account either

nope…don’t be looking for the banner until 31st…just be patient…easier said than done!

how do they notify you if you are rejected for one school - 1st choice- but accepted to your 2nd choice?

i don’t think you hear if you app was sent to your second choice? you applied to both and i would think cornell assumes you would go to the second one without question so would send it to the school and you hear from the second choice? any one know for sure.

^^ Sounds reasonable to me from my understanding of how primary/alternate choices work. You could hear from either one of those for acceptance or rejection. If you are notified of rejection from your primary school, then your primary school decided not to pass it along to the alternate choice. If you are accepted by the alternate school, you are denied of admission to primary school, but they decided to pass it along to the alternate school. You will hear one decision.
