For those asking about chances

My son, who is now attending UGA had a GPA of 3.3. He took AP or IB if it was available and since our school actually starts offering AP in freshman year he had a lot. So he had the rigor. He had a score of 1780 on SAT. His guidance counselor recommended that he wait for regular admission because with early admin they only look at numbers basically. He was very involved in church and community. He was involved with human rights organizations, held leadership positions at school and church and had a part time job during high school and was very self motivated. He made sure to highlight these in his essays. But they were sincere and I think the admissions officers could tell. I am writing this not to brag about my son but to give hope to those of you who don't have the standard UGA GPA. Remember those are averages. And they do look at everything at regular admission. So best of luck to you all! Go for it. And be sure to get your school counselor to advise you regarding EA and reg admission.
