For those from Socal

How often do u guys come back from Berkeley to visit family.

waves her flag for San Bernardino County

I tend to go every 3-5 months, depending on the holiday. This past year, I went for a short weekend in October for my best friend's birthday (never even saw the family, sadly), I skipped going for Thanksgiving, went for a week at Christmas, and went down for spring break.

I'm staying in Berkeley for the summer, but I'll be going down again for ~10 days in the middle/end of June, and probably won't go again until Thanksgiving.

4 times: Thanksgiving (4 days), Winter break (4 weeks), Spring (1 week), and Summer (3 months)

same as cnat.

I will not lie. First semester I was homesick. I went to L.A. once a month. Second semester I was completely over the "hump" (missed my dog though), and returned once at Spring break.

i dont go there yet (im 2012) but i plan for thanksgiving, winter, spring & summer, if i dont take summer classes

same as cnat. unless you're homesick, like some people i know, it's really not a big deal.

I'm 2012 too, im planning for thanksgiving, winter, spring and summer too :)

If I could stay over breaks, then i wouldn't visit lol.. jk.. i think i would still visit ;)

My parents want me to fly back every 2 weeks. Would this be burdensome?

...every 2 weeks.. >< omg so rich! haha.. I dunno... I wouldn't... even if i lived an hour or two away from campus.

2 weeks.. maybe try a month at first.. airplane tickets add up but if you're rich then i guess money wouldn't be a problem.

during the major breaks, if that. i find most people from socal tend only to go home for the four major breaks listed above. besides the occasional large event (ie. family event, etc.), i would say if you're homesick, keep the visits to home at a maximum of once a month.

haha. even when i come "home" (to my city) i don't wanna spend my entire break in there. i wanna visit other places too. im not sure what that counts as.
