I am currently a senior in high school. I am taking AP Biology right now and I have an F! So far, I have failed every test. There is so much to remember and I try to cram it into my head the night before the tests, and it just doesn't work. I know this is not an effective way to study but I don't really have time to study my notes every night. Sometimes, I have a ton of homework. I am trying to find some effective ways to study for AP Biology tests so that the information will stick in my head. I really need to pass the tests!! My AP Biology class is like a real college class because my teacher rarely gives any homework and we only do a few labs this semester, so that means my grade is dependent upon chapter tests. There is nothing much to back up my grade. Last semester I had a C because I did alright on the lab reports and the homework and that helped my grade. I don't know what to do! I can't fail another class because then that means goodbye to UC's! What are some good ways to study that will help me pass the tests? PLEASE HELP ME!!

Well. im canadian so i dont know what AP means.. but im guessing like universtiy biology
anyways, im taking bio too, and i currently have an 86. mostly what i do is ask ALOT, ALOT, AND ALOT of questions, like when my teacher is explaining something, ill ask every wuestion possible so i KNOW the stuff. im not very good with memorizing, (im guessing you arent either) so i like to make sure i understand it..
but to be honest, if you're serious about university, esp for bio, you HAVE to go over your notes every day... trust me it could be for 10 minutes before bed, but it helps.
Also, see if the teacher will give you homework, ask him/her for some, im sure they'll give it to you if you need it.

I'm taking AP Bio next year, but I've heard some advice from those who are taking it now. If you can, buy the textbook. That way you can highlight/underline and write in the margins. Plus, you don't have to worry about taking notes which can be very time consuming. And, you've realized that you will do better if you study ahead of time. So...do it. Even if that means sacrificing a few hours of your weekend. Also, I agree that you should review your notes whenever possible, not necessarily only at night. If you have 10 minutes to spare in the morning before school starts, learn a few new vocab words or something.

I am currently getting an A in AP Biology as a sophomore. I study nightly by reading my class notes and the textbook. In this way, I am able to discover terms to address with my teacher at the next class. Perhaps you should get an AP review book from a bookstore or a library and take the practice tests. There's nothing better than physically seeing what the AP Exam looks like.

I'm taking AP Bio as a sophomore and what I do is just reread the chapters we are on in the book. Also I review the notes the morning before the test.
