Just wonder, I'm applying to UCSD, UCSB, UCI, UCD, and UCSC, all under Economics major this month for fall 08. My gpa is 3.4, i'll be finished with IGETC by Spring 08, i'll have my AA by then as well. I'll be finished with ECON 1+2, as well as Stats and Finite math but I haven't done Calculus yet which is a prereq, which I won't be able to do until next year. For those who got into the UCs, whatre my chances?

Besides that, I'm going to sign the Guaranteed Transfer Agreement with UCSD for admission into Winter 09 as backup. I guess all I can do now is get As for the remainder of my DeAnza (CC) career (2 quarters+summer) and hope my Personal Statement is good enough.

Oh, well UCSC actually requires it as a prereq for Econ major and I know Calculuses A, B, C, and D are all essential to the major but I was thinking of taking them over there. A couple of my counselors say I should be able to get in with my GPA and the few prereqs I've done alone, and maybe be able to take classes that dont req calculus while I catch up at the same time.

Once I get into the UC I am going to take the prereq math classes at a community college near that UC. The thing is I dont want to waste a year just to take 1 math class a quarter.
