For those of you who are also applying for financial aid...

isn't there a forum for the univ here on CC? maybe if you would ask there you would get more qualified answeres.

tried, not much help.

Hmmm..I'm unsure as to whether the adcoms at Wash&Lee and WUStL would divulge such information like "How easy is it to get need-based aid?". Maybe you could ask them the average amount they give out and how many int'ls get it a year?

yea, they wouldnt. so thts why i wanted to know if anyone knew how common it was from here.

i have the average aid figures. both colleges aid a lotta intels, jus that Wash & lee has a much higher, but again, it has avery low ranking for business.

ughh

This site might be of help =)

<a href="http://www.internationalstudent.com/schools_awarding_aid/%5B/url%5D">http://www.internationalstudent.com/schools_awarding_aid/</a></p>

thanks.

okay ppl , applying for finaid, when you show a bank account, to you show only a present figure, like the present balance, or do you have to show about two years or so of history of transactions.

showing jus the present figure sounds rather absurd coz anyone can tranfer money into an account, or withdraw money from it momentarily and show thts their bank acc.

any ideas?

guys...do u think i should apply for FA to princeton ED? How will it affect my chances? Its not that i terribly need FA but it'l surely help.

you should apply for FA....they say they're need blind for intls too... and they're generous about money....so definetely apply for it! ;)

Callthecops, I for one am not really convinced of the need-blind theory - but that is beyond the scope of this conversation (see Parents Forum for details).
If you really can afford not to apply for Financial Aid then you should not apply for it. The thing is only you and your family actually know whether you "really can afford", so I would suggest having a very serious discussion with them about it, as it could potentially mean several tens of thousands of dollars more, but also a possibly better chance of getting in. Again, I stress "possibly better chance". You will hear very different opinions on this and you will have to take a decision - there is no apparent right one, though.
Also, if you can afford not to apply for FA, consider how much need-based FA you would be receiving should you get into Princeton and whether that is worth the trouble.

New here, but i've got a question?
Why should you send the CSS profile as an international? Aren't we supposed to send only the other two form for int students

hi ramona... in most cases (i am tempted to say all but i shall refrain from making a such a categorical claim), internationals only need to send in the International Student Financial Aid Application and International Student Certification of Finances... (in fact some only require the latter when u get admitted..)
