<p>If your motives are less sinister, I hate to bust your bubble, but there's rarely a darth of eager students who wish to dedicate their time to a certain activity.</p>
<p>windCloudultra, i'm not going to custom fit my activities, because i can't just make stuff up that i'm not doing; it will just seem fake to admissions officers. Instead, i am just figuring out what strengths i should play out more that i am already doing... and also i wanted to see if i attended harvard would i have to compete really hard for activities that i may be interested in.</p>
<p>to the OP: "dearth" means insufficiency or lack of. so when you say "leaving a dearth of spots open for freshman [sic]" that means you're looking for clubs that won't have any spots open for freshmen. i don't mean to be a ***** but i just thought i'd point that out. i wouldn't want you to make a mistake like that on your essay haha</p>
