+Minimum requirements (English stuffs)

According to UCLA, "You are STRONGLY advised to give completion of lower-division major-preparation requirements priority over completion of GE requirements prior to transfer."

For me it seems like for engineer transfers most UCs consider MUCH more on the major-prereqs than the GEs.

More information:

Also since they don’t really care about the GEs, they don’t really care about UC reciprocity or IGETC as well, simply mainly focus on the major-prereqs.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seem they write so somewhere…

In some cases, the engineering divisions (e.g. Berkeley’s College of Engineering) do not accept IGETC in place of their own breadth requirements. If that is true (see [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) ) for all of your campuses and majors, then don’t bother fulfilling IGETC (although if at least one of your campuses and majors takes IGETC, it may still be worth doing if it does not impact your major preparation).

However, it is still a good idea to pay attention to the breadths you will need to take (go to the campus web sites to find out) so that you can get as many as you can done at CC if you have extra schedule space at CC. For example, Berkeley’s College of Engineering requires six humanities or social studies courses as breadth. Since two of them have to be upper division, they cannot be taken at CCs, but the other four can, including the two English composition courses.

Anyone else in the same boat as me who don’t have any CS classes which transfer at their CCCs?

It’s incredibly discomforting to see Pre-Reqs that have to be completed BY SPRING, when I might have extremely competitive grades in all

On Berkeley’s ASSIST page, they say that they understand the CS classes are hard to find at many CCCs, and they they have Summer and Spring programs. Consequently, that is the most competitive to get in.
