For those of you with multiple acceptances...

How are you deciding by May 1 which college/university is for you?

$$$$$ (10 char)

Location Location Location

visiting each school

picking up the vibes.

money money money =]

Thought it would be tough to decide...getting easier as the date gets closer. Focused on my major. Basically, I have 2 top choices. I'm leaning toward the one that's better for journalism, but I'll know for sure when I visit (picking up the vibe). Then again, I may also know for sure when (if?) the other school rejects me...

Look at aid packages and visit. Figure out what is the best fit.

visiting campuses in the coming springbreak...although, mentally I already made my decision.

Honestly... i have no clue.. /cry

Well I'll list the schools i've been accepted to so far:

university of georgia
university of florida
and the UT cap program

Basically UT has been my dream school since the age of 5 but because of that damn top 10% rule I couldn't get straight in because I'm living in Canada right now and they don't rank. I'm still considered a Texas resident because we still own a house down there so I was offered something called the "cap" program. Basically I have to go to any of the smaller campuses in the UT system (san antonio, el paso, arlington..etc) and as long as I maintain like a 3.0 or something, I get accepted automatically to Austin the next year. I'm not sure what to do because Florida and Georgia are good schools and it's pretty tough to turn down both of them so I can spend the year in a crappy school in San Antonio for a year. Going to UT would be pretty awesome though. Still trying to decide whether it's worth it. What would you guys do if you were in my situation?

money !!!!!!!!!!

money--bye-bye Stanford, USC, and Villanova--your first letters (acceptance) were great, second ones (aid, scholarship), not so much

for schools with comparable money awards--UMD vs. Pitt (full rides) , hoping desperately for Santa Clara--going by location and feel. I like SCU over the other two for its size and location, and prefer UMD over Pitt because I didn't like the feel of the place too much.

eeny meeny miney mo

I really have two top schools and I have already been accepted to one. The other I visited in October and absolutely loved. So in April, I will visit the second one and see how I like the atmosphere there. I am pretty sure I am going to get enough financial aid from both schools so I am not worried about that. Since I love how both of the schools sound on paper, I really am just going to worry about the atmosphere of the second school. If I don't like it, I will go to the other. If I absolutely love it, then I will go there.

Prestige *

money and an official visit with the swim team.

I got accepted to:

U Pittsburgh
U Maryland
Howard U
Morehouse U

I also applied to Harvard and Yale, but I wont know if I've been accepted there a for a few more days, especially because right now I am stuck in Atlanta GA (I live in Philly tho), because my dad is in the hospital now about to receive treatment for a major brain aneurysm. I probably won't be home for at least 3 weeks. The way I'm making my decision right now.. (like I really give a damn about college now..)

Pittsburgh is OUT. Howard is OUT. I never visited Pitt and most likely, given the current state of things, will not get to see it (nor do I want to). I hated Howard when I visited. Maryland WAS a big choice for me, but through this whole surgery thing with my dad, I've learned that I want to be close to my family. My family is in the process of moving to Atlanta as we speak. When college starts next year, we will be here for good. Therefore, the only other choice for school next year is Morehouse. Harvard and Yale I don't want to attend. So it's Morehouse for me, and the main reason is to be close to my family.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ all the way

best wishes for your dad RBase

thanks much Lord knows he'll need it come 7:30 this morning.
