<p>Are there any differences in envelope size/etc. that has been noticed in Yale's letters of admission? For example, does a big envelope in a package form mean you are accepted?</p>
<p>How long after December 15 should one expect to recieve it. I will not check online because I have exams that week and don't want to possibly depress myself with rejection!</p>
<p>i went to a yale info session and the guy said that there will be a "fat envelope" with your acceptance letter....but i think he was being sarcastic : /</p>

<p>I don't know what a Yale rejection letter looks like, but acceptances last year came in a big white envelope (8.5 x 11) with YALE printed in large blue letters on it. There was a pennant in it, plus a letter and several other sheets of paper with relevant info. Not particularly thick, except for the lumpy pennant.</p>
<p>You're going to WAIT? Even if it comes within a week, isn't the CURIOSITY just KILLING you?</p>
<p>so, do u think its better to wait for the envelope? or check online? i would rather physically see the red flag (i.e. the size of the envelope) in the mail then open that possibly dreadful (but hopefully not) admissions site. I dont know. I hope that i get in so badly.</p>
<p>i'd rather get a rejection/deferral online than by mail. but then again, i would rather get an acceptance by mail than online.</p>
<p>so whichever happens, i'm still SOL because prior to my deciding to input my Eli account info online or opening the mail, there will always be an uncertainty around the air (except for the mail...i'd instantly know...)</p>

<p>I'm curious if they mail decisions before December 15. My friend who applied to Vanderbilt ED will probably get her decision before the 15th because they mail on the 10th.</p>

<p>I think the poster meant that it was Dec. 14th at 5 LAST YEAR because the 15th was on a weekend. This year it'll be the 15th at 5:00.</p>

<p>Last year the big envelope did not come until AT LEAST a week after Friday, December 14th. And we live in the US, although not close to New Haven. I can only speak about last year, but it looked to me like snail mail did not leave admissions until on or after the 14th. If you plan to sit by your mailbox for a week, please dress warmly. </p>
<p>Even though the Eli account kept saying "in", it didn't feel quite real until the envelope came. But really, it was almost Christmas before it showed up at our house, and internationals were biting their nails for weeks.</p>

<p>Does anybody know what happens when you log into you Eli account? I heard that if you get accepted there's a dancing Elihu Yale or a dancing bulldog, something like that.</p>
<p>last year it said Yale 2012 or something like that and Bulldog played. so be sure to have your volume on when you check. and then after that you go to the screen that says you have been accepted with the letter you will get in the mail.</p>
<p>also, not to make you guys wait by your computer that day, but last year my decision was up when i got home from school that day (like 4:30 eastern). </p>
<p>and like rivverrunner, my actual envelope didn't come for at least a week, maybe more, after i found out online.</p>
