I chose South then Pollack (double) and also requested Discover House SLO for DUS freshmen. I chose the level 3 meal plan...figured it's easy to add more $ to the plan if I need more.

How about you?

how exactly does the psu meal plan work?-- do u get a certain # of meals per plan or a certain amount of money. Does any1 know which meal plan would be the best if i plan to eat at the dining halls lunch and dinner?

i changed my dorms to south and pollock today as well. and im also most likely getting the level 3 meal plan. just looking for a roommate, then i just have to set my preference rankings.

Level 3 and east halls

Meal Plan Level 3 and East Halls, with Pollack as second choice. That seems to be what almost everyone is doing.

When my son was in the dorm you essentially paid a flat fee to participate in the meal plan system and then bought points which put you at different levels. (I don’t think this changed.) Our strategy was to buy the minimum plan and then add points as he needed them. The advantages of this were threefold-- PSU was not sitting on our money all semester, points could be added with a credit card (earning airline mies or a rebate) while the initial meal plan payment could not, and this minimized the risk of having a lot of points left over at the end of the semester. I did not see any disadvantage (i.e. increased cost) to doing it this way.
