Course Rigor: How many honors / APs etc..
EC & Additional Info:
How well you think you did on essays:
Anything else?:
What major you got in / got rejected:

also can you say whether you applied regular / ED / EA and what happened, and whether you applied for scholarships and financial aid and what happened.

Hey LSkaiWalk!

I just got accepted for a BFA in Chapman's Graphic Design major today. I don't have the best GPA or SAT scores, so you have to remember they had to look at my art portfolio too!

GPA: 3.35
It is weighted at my school because we have alot of IB students. I have taken 4 IB classes during high school, two my Junior year and two this year so my class ranking got raised up because of them. I am currently 199 out of 409. I can't remember what Chapman said about GPA calculations, but I do know they told me that they definately take into consideration rigerous AP and IB classes!

SAT: 1670
I didnt take the ACT. Not sure how they calculate it.

Course Rigor:
Like I already stated, I took 4 IB classes; IB American History, IB English (both 11th grade), IB Psychology and IB Environmental Systems (currently, senior year). I took 2 independent study college math courses (mainly because I am bad at math). One through Portland State University and the other through Brigham Young University.

Essay:
I think it is one of the things that really showed my true character. I worked on that essay for a really long time, had it evaluated by every single one of my teachers, and each one loved it (my counselor recommended me for a scholarship because of it). I am pretty sure the essay worked in my favor, considering I don't have the best of grades. I wrote it on my experience when I had cancer as a child, and how it defined me today.

Additional Info:
I placed alot of emphasis on my volunteer work. Also, I tried to put my name out there for the school. I attended my local Chapman Dessert Reception (informational meeting with the admissions counsel) since I am from out of state, it was held in Seattle. I think I left an impression on them because when I attended Discover Chapman Day (had a art interview down there) two of them remembered me. I applied for Early Decision. I didn't apply for financial aid or scholarships.

I hope this helps!!!

Status: Accepted
GPA: 9-12 UW: 3.81; 9-12W: 4.07
SAT or ACT: SAT--2000. W730, CR670, M600.
Course Rigor: Not the strongest, but good--I took 1 AP junior year and am taking 3 APs now. Took 1 honors class sophomore year and 1 honors junior year.
EC & Additional Info: Lots of them :) I'm a theatre geek. 7 years of theatre, voice, and dance. At least a couple hundred hours of community service, mostly theatre-related. Volunteered on an animal rights website for three years. Have had part-time jobs for the past two years.
How well you think you did on essays: My English teacher, who I really trust, called my common app essay a "winner." It was about my younger brother, who has Asperger's, and his effect on me.
Anything else?: I think my letters of rec were probably very good as well. :)
What major you got in / got rejected: The website says I was accepted for the BA in theatre...but I haven't auditioned yet, hahah.
