Well, drug use propensity has less to do with ambition than it does with personality type, but I can confidently tell you that many driven people love cocaine. Perhaps you've heard of Wall Street?

^^lmao. flashback to book/movie American Psycho
yup, i totally agree. no one's too driven to do anything, drug-wise. drive has nothing to do with it.

muerte, you've got to be kidding me. you're just mad because you transferred from cornell and now regret leaving a group of bright, driven students for the pitiful pre-professionalism of penn.

and can we really blame you? penn's spring event thing can't even get someone decent: they got akon, while cornell got t.i. last year. how can penn possibly be a better school if akon the best quality performer they can afford? cornell solicits a multi-talented musician who has graced television and film all while creating 10 billboard top 100 singles, while penn gets an ex-convict to sing pittance on their pathetic, crumbling stage. euterpe--who is not just the muse of music, but also of college rankings--is filled with shame.

i know that i'll certainly be driving to cornell to go to slope day this year, because whoever they have will be better than akon; anyone is. penn's "spring fling" nonsense will soon reveal what penn really is: a satellite new jersey community college. i would go to cornell over penn any day.

Why does it seem like I'm the only person in the world who recognized the rebirth and subsequent overuse of the damned vocoder in r & b music. This is why I despise Akon and all that new crap I get shoved into my ears. Ugh. Okay I found one other person who had the same thought. Thank heavens:

Since I'm not a person involved with making music or heavily into the the equipment used by studios or musicians it seems a bit silly to think that "people should" know the difference. It's a very specific niche of knowledge about technology. So that's another gripe I'll bring up, what is with these people in every little corner of the information world thinking that everyone should the know the specifics they do. There's nothing wrong with figuring out the difference between things but EXPECTING someone to know something so unimportant to the general public, such as a vocoder vs autotune, is ridiculous.

Hey wolfmanjack, it's not so much whether the general public should know or not, it's just the fact that autotune is becoming so popular thanks to Kanye's album 808s and Heartbreaks. It seems as if EVERYONE who mentions it always says "What's up with Kanye's voice?" and the other person says "autotune". Even though it was formerly a word known by people in the know, thanks to its resurgence, it's starting to be a word familiar to the average pop culture fan.

F kanye.... I dont listen to that crap. And the first time I heard an autotune effect was on that Cher song..whether it was autotune or not idk but the effect was there. I never once heard anyone ask, and nor did I, anything about what was up with Kanye's voice. It's produced - enough said. I've played with sound equipment plenty enough to know that ( I used to run Mackie's for various organizations and have played with Reason and FL studio), I just never researched the diff between a voder and autotune.
