For those who attend

Is Rochester a happening place? How would you describe the atmosphere of UofR? How would you describe the student body? Are you happy with your decision of accepting UofR? Why or why not?

Also for specifics,

How would you rate Rochesters Economics department? How do they fare in the job market? Also, Is an interview required?

I apologise for this, but if you wouldn't mind judging my chances, I'd highly appreciate it.

GPA - 3.3/3.4 UW -- It's sub-par due to my horrendous sophomore
year(2.9uw). However, I'm hoping that my significantly better performance in my junior year(3.8uw) will help balance that out with an upward grade trend.
SAT's - 2160(1430 M/V)
SAT II's - Bio 620 Math IC 710

EC's

Other things to note.
-relatively competetive courseload. I'll have about 5 hns and 5 AP courses by the end of my senior year.
-very competetive public school. Highest SAT scores for a non-magnet public school-If that means anything.
-Asian/Indian-bilingual. Indian citizen
-recommendations will be excellent(my teacher loves me) as will my essay.

Does UofR seem realistic? or is it a pretty big reach because of my GPA?

realistically a shoe-in match if u apply ed, and then a match at rd. econ department is prolly (and bear with me on this scale) an B+....give it 5-10 years.. A_.

u of r is happening, city of rochester is not happening, consider yourself in a bubble-campus...not many people leave the campus to go to the city. other surrounding schools come to u of r to party .

ok, yeah i'll agree with the shoe-in match...the economics department is i'd give it a little better - A- but i can't really judge cause i'm taking econ next semester...but i mean the classes are taught with the grad business school so it's really good...

as far as the campus goes, i love it soo much here!! i'm so happy i decided to come here!! there are stuff to do every weekend, if not every night...well, that depends on what type of person u are...i like to do stuff more on weekends...but if ur up for partying all week, it's up to u...there are parties all the time...but it's all ur choice basically..yeah, UR has more stuff happening than the city of rochester...but don't take that too bad, cause you'll be doing so much on-campus that u won't even feel like leaving...i'm actually trying to find time in my schedule and cancelling stuff to meet my cousins a lil distance from U of R...definitely give an interview a shot...i am actually part of the UR focus group and basically the admissions counselors talked about interviews a good bit...U of R's interview does not follow a bunch of questions as many other colleges do...so, make sure you're free/casual with the interviewer...if u act way too professional and fake and just want to come here for the prestige (and if u are the really studious kid who doesn't do much but study all day) they'll play around with u...so just be calm and talk freely and friendly...stats are just one factor in the admissions process...so yeah, definitely try the interview, visit the campus, be passionate..that's it...just have a passion for the school, and ur in...
