For those who go to medium or large sized schools:

I'm thinking like 5,000 undergrads and up for size: how often do you see people that you've never seen before? I'm just trying to imagine what it's like at a larger school. Say you go to a dining hall or the gym or something; do you always see new people?

My high school has around 800 kids in it, and I think I've seen (almost) everyone at least once. Names? Forget it! :)

One semester in and I don’t recognize a majority of the students - so yes, I see people I don’t know everyday.

^ how large is your school?

About 6,000 undergrad, 7,000 grad

40,000 kids at my school. I see new people everyday and also new people everyday in some of my large lecture hall type classes.

My school is 40,000+. I constantly see people I don’t know. In fact, it’s somewhat uncommon for me to see people I know…just walking around, I’ll see maybe two or three people per day that I am acquainted with.

There are also a few people I see every day but don’t know at all, I just always see them due to similar class schedules. It’s kind of weird, lol.

I could never go to a small school though. I’d hate knowing everyone or even most people I’d see walking around.

I eventually start recognizing some faces because generally you’ll pass the same people going between classes especially if you take the same route. But yeah there are always new faces, my school is about 27,000 undergrads. Love it honestly, it’s big enough where it doesn’t feel like high school yet it’s not too hard to randomly run into classmates.

Only 8,000 or so undergrads, but I see new people every day. My closest friends are the guys in my dorm section I met on day 1, but I’ve made friends well into the semester, too. I still run into a couple friends walking around each day, though, which is nice.

~50k, and I see new faces every day.

Ha, I think it really depends on how many people you know! I tend to see quite a few, and notice that more and more people I do know turn up daily when I’ve gone to the place for a few years. But you can be sure to see many people you don’t know in a 10,000+ ppl school, I should guess.

I go to what could probably considered a medium-sized school (roughly 5, 000 students).

Everyday I’ll see someone I don’t recognize or have seen before. There are classes I’ve taken where I don’t even recognize the majority of the students.

How often do I meet new people? Pretty often-maybe a handful of people each week.

Although, you frequently come across people you know on campus. So I think it’s the perfect size. You’ll know a good number of people, and always have room to meet more!

I go to a large school. Basically, I’m surrounded by people I’ve never seen or met before. Though I do usually run into at least one or two people I know each day.

4,932 undergraduate students at my university and I see new people everyday so I would assume those medium and really large ones provide a bountiful amount of fresh faces.

I just finished community college that has 8,500 students. In my college, I see the same several number of students a lot. Also, I see a few students that I don’t know their names, every other day I believe. Keep in mind that this is a community college, some students have evening classes too so maybe the same students I see in day time (I usually go to classes during the day) are part of the student population. There maybe students that I never see in the evening.

I’m at a uni which is only 3,000 ish students but I see new people every day. Or perhaps I just struggle to remember faces.

At my home uni, which has about 15,000 students, I don’t live on campus, and I only have 7 hours of class so I don’t really see lots of faces… just my friends. (And the strangers that occupy the streets of real life)

My school has around 5,000 undergrads and I see new people all the time but at the same time I’ll walk around campus and also be able to spot people I know. I also love being able to walk into the dining hall alone at an off-peak hour and still manage to find someone I know.

25,000 undergrad and I love it. I see new faces everyday. Over time I have recognized certain groups in the dining hall or at parties. My favorite part of it is that no one knows everyone so groups are always adding new friends. Gets rid of a lot of that clique junk that high school has.

20,000 undergrads. I see new people all of the time. At the same time, I also can’t go anywhere without running into people I know.

There are some people who I see ALL of the time, but I don’t actually know their names.
