What are your stats/ECs like? Just out of curiosity.

How about NO update since 01/05/2009? (This is copied from another thread, fyi) :)

I also have an older brother that is a Junior at USC (If that helps my chances of getting in.)
-I also would say that my essay was pretty effective in showing my passion for Business/Cinema-Television. If I do get into the Marshall School of Business I plan on entering the BCA program they have.
-Teacher Recommendations were AWESOME! I didn't get to read my Counselor rec, but I'm sure it was awesome as well.

I think my GPA and SAT is what's hurting me. :(

I haven't had a status update since 12/22. Well the date hasn't changed since then, but my message is the "In review, will know by April 1" thing.

SAT: 2040 (eek) 650 M 670 CR 720 W
GPA: 3.7 UW/4.09 W (basically no weight for AP's in our school) rank 6/154

Very committed EC's...competitive dancer since age 4, piano since age 5, varsity volleyball captain, varsity lacrosse player, volunteering for organizations I actually care about
And my essay was pretty splendid if you ask me

So I'm kind of on the low side for USC - that coupled with the no-status-change thing is really making me think I didn't get in. FML.

Hmm...my last update was in February and my ECs are pretty awesome and my SAT is a 2010, my GPA is suckyyyy though, like a 3.19/3.89.

It seems like the main difference between us and people who have gotten in is SAT scores, but ours are still really good...hmm

Yeah, I think that the people with lower stats get in later. And maybe they are sooooo swamped with app's that they aren't doing updates for everyone anymore? Seems like about less than half have been updated and the other's havent, then again, USC's acceptance rate is 22%. But I feel confident when I say those who come on here are more likely to get into USC than those who don't, we actually care about getting in/have a good shot!

I applied to Marshall too, so hopefully they are just really swamped and we'll get stuff this week.

updated sometime last month but they left the date at 1/12/09

2070 SAT
31 ACT
3.7/4.1 GPA

I don't know what i'm going to do with myself! I haven't slept in like 2 weeks, I've wanted to go to USC since 8th grade when i first saw it, i can't see myself anywhere else

I can't either jnm656, i NEED to go to USC.

We all have great stats, so there must be something going on at the admissions office.

My update was 12/03, yes DECEMBER THRID.
GPA: 4.25
SAT: 2080
SAT II: 790/730

^OMG Nevermind... it changed today. Should I be expecting an envelope soon?

3.79 UW
31 ACT
8 AP's
Taken hella business classes (entrepreneurship, sports/entertainment marketing, ap econs., work study, general marketing) and involved in hella business extra curriculars. Described my passion for business and interest in BCA program in my essays, along with my family and friend connections in the movie industry. Plus, got a letter of rec from the politician that I interned for, so hopefully that will help a little.

This blows.

Last updated 12/24. I applied mid-October
GPA: 3.6/4.08
SAT: 2070
ACT: 32
9 APs, 4 honors
2 years student gov, 8 years of tae-kwon-doe, 4 jobs at various tech startups in the bay area and then a job at Wild 94.9 as a web consultant (aka I got paid vs. college student interns!)

Compared to everyone that's gotten in, no one here really seems like they should be rejected...well goody gumdrops. Good luck to everyone!

most of us are lacking in either GPA, SAT, or both =/

Status update: 12/29
GPA: 3.38/3.92 (crap!)

do you guys know if USC takes in weighted or unweighted GPA?

I haven't had an update since 2/18.

I applied for Print Journalism at Annenberg.
I have a 3.7 UW GPA and 3.9 W GPA.
SAT 1980: 660 CR, 580 M, 730 W
SATII: 700 Lit, 710 US Hist
4 APS (Stats, Lit, Gov, US Hist)
Editor-in-Chief school newspaper, staff writer year before.
Made films that have won numerous awards at local film festivals.
High comp traveling soccer for four years.
3 jobs in the past. Two were tutoring at summer schools for my school district. And one is the job I hold now at a local deli, where I work about 16-20 hours a week.
I have taken curriculum actually geared towards what I really want to do (photography, film, journalism, advanced english & history, etc.)
Strong essays. I wrote about fixing my school newspaper for the better, and finding typos in it, but always improving each month. In my statement of intent for annenberg I wrote about how Iraq war protests in SF inspired me to be a journalist. Hopefully they like my liberal slant. heh. :D

I know I don't have the strongest stats, but I thought since Annenberg is a more specific school they wouldn't necessarily be looking for the best test scores, but students that show a passion for their major through their classes and extracurriculars and essays, which I think I did.

S of JW has a 3.7 UW/4.0 W, 2270 SAT's. No update since January.
