I know what's holding me back already... my horrendous SAT scores :/ The thing that sucks is that I know I can do much better. I got into NYU though, and while USC is harder to get into, that has to mean I've got even a little (tiny) shot... at least I hope. USC is my absolute number 1 choice.

My chances are also on the low side, but my status date is always being updated? Right now it says:
Status last updated: 03/24/2009
Whenever I log in, it's a different date.

No status change since 12/23. For some strange reason, I don’t think it’s negative. I think it means they decided a long time ago but will send transfer decisions in groups later. I’m also not enrolled in school, so there’s no need for spring grades, etc.

how many of you on this thread are transfers? my child is getting treated like a freshman by some schools, who want a decision by may 1… meantime others like USC seem to be slowwwww in getting decisions… idk what we are going to do

I understand where you are coming from. I’m a transfer who has an Associates Degree and who also is not currently enrolled. I applied to a few schools, and strangely, USC is taking the longest in a response, considering that some schools want an answer/acceptance of enrollment, before time USC send out letters to transfers. If I were you, and if your child is enrolled in school currently, I would write an email to the admissions office patiently asking when you should expect a decision, along with your child’s status upon applying ( grad. year, school applying to, etc). Then, based of the time they give you, and if your child is currently enrolled in school, I would have his/her adviser send a letter/email explaining to the other schools that your child still has pending applications at other institutions and that he/she simply cannot make a final choice in a school until seeing what all the options are. Hopefully that helps. Good luck.

I’m a transfer student. In the past, students committed to enrolling at USC have waited it out. That is, they have paid the non-refundable SIR fee to their second-choice school and withdrew it if they got into USC, biting the bullet and kissing $x.xx goodbye. I might be in this situation in the coming weeks. Fuey.

Finally received my first update since applying, which was 12/23 and is now 4/22. I’m very nervous and a little excited. Anyone else get a late April update? Transfers, I mean.
