For Those who just took the ACT

how would you say the test measured up against the practice tests in the "Real" Practice ACT prep book? was the actual test more difficult or easier?

Thanks in advance

I think this Feb. ACT was very similar to those in the official practice guide except for the science test. The science test was recently made more difficult in that now there's usually one or two passages that require outside knowledge, i.e. the questions are very difficult or impossible to answer with only the information in the passage. In this test, for example, there was a genetics passage that would have been very hard if you knew nothing about genetics but very easy if you did.

when did this change take place nilkn?

I don't know exactly when. I'm just going off what a friend told me a few months ago. All he told me was "they recently made the science section harder so that it requires more knowledge."

thanks for the input. did anyone else who recently took the ACT find the science section (or any section for that matter) harder then the practice tests on the "real" ACT practice book

All I know is that the science section was harder than the one in October when I got a 32 on the science part.

the science and math in october were a LOT harder than the practice tests, but the reading and english were both a lot easier.
I don't know about feb. though.

IMO the feb science test was pretty difficult compared to other tests ive taken

hmm...that's wierd...this was my 3rd time taking the ACT and I found it to be relatively easier than all the other test dates.

I found the science harder, but the reading easier. Math and english were about the same.

it may just be me, but i found the math and sci to be a lot harder. reading and english were about the same tho english was kinda tougher, but not by much

i think the real ACT book preps you really well, because ALL of the sections seemed similar to the practice tests
