Intended major is NOT an admissions factor for L&S, but it is a major consideration for engineering (as are Math 2 scores).

I think you have a shot.

My sons' high school is like yours. It is fairly common for students to have 4.2+ gpa with SAT scores around 1700 or 1800.

Every year, UCB accepts at least 5, possible up to 8 or 10 students from our school.

Thank you for making me feel a little better. And I understand about the "top-secret information," its just a little too late now... haha. I'm just wondering what my chances are.

you really shouldnt assume you are a bad test taker.... you can be an idiot but work hard and study and still get a good grades in math (especially in your school from your descriptions of low test scores by the top students) whereas studying equally hard doesnt necessarily mean that 800 on math 1 or 2. in a way i think you are lucky to go to less of a non-competitive school because of the higher and easier GPA you can get.

um wow thanks.

no problem. i notice a lot of people who erroneously think that way so i always go out of my way to tell them.

Well I think you could really benefit from a course in "Netiquette." Then maybe you can spend less time worried about how other people erroneously think and more time thinking about your own errors

dont get emotional by what i have to say, i am more than willing to take the class if it exists.

berkeley’s my top choice too.
i got a 1550/1600 and 2250 superscore. my GPA is 4.0 weighted but idk what it is unweighted. i’ve gotten 4’s on all my AP’s so far and am taking all AP’s in my senior schedule.
I went to Stony Brook University for a research program over the summer in 2009 for 7 weeks, and won a small research award in 10th grade. I’m applying to the engineering school.
I’m just worried that i rushed my essays and that a few of my grades won’t look good.
I’m a girl from out of state so i think that will help.

Dude, this post is TWO YEARS OLD!.. what is the point?
