For those who received a STRIDE or other merit-based scholarship (financial aid question)

Did the merit-based scholarship come off your tuition/room and board bill in ADDITION to the estimated grant money as part of a financial aid package? For example, if the Net Price Calculator shows that that Smith will give you an $18,000 grant and the STRIDE is for $20,000, does that mean it will take $38,000 off of the “sticker price” of the college?

I believe it is included, not in addition. So if they estimate you will need $18,000 in grants, you will only get the STRIDE 20k, nothing more

Zero STRIDE here but did get a Smith College grant of $54K a year. Not complaining.
