ok. i need real advice for the critical reading section of the sat. so how do you guys approach the passages? do you skim the passages quickly and then answer the questions or read the passages completely before answering. or do you prefer to read the questions first before reading the passages? and the most important question of all- how do you prepare for the critical reading portion of the sat? do you read a lot or are just good at test-takers? thanks.
i'm such a slow reader....

I usually just read the passage, then answer the questions. If I read the questions first, I'm usually distracted.

On the downside, I'm also an extremely slow reader and I've never made a score of at least 500 on the CR portion, so maybe you should just discount his post. >_<

I got an 800cr. I usually glance at the questions and note what lines they refer to. Then I go through and mark the lines that will be important, read the whole thing but pay particular attention to the marked places. You can usually tell what the question will be from what the content is.

Don't stress out too much over questions. Skip hard ones, and go back if you have time. That's basic test advice for any situation.

thanks. any more 800 and 750+ cr people out there who are willing to give advice to me and coldeggnog?
