For those who seek an Ivy transfer

Hey I just found out a fellow classmate of mines got accepted into Columbia's School of General Studies (she heard july 6th). So of course she is not a traditional student, she's in her late 20s, philosophy major. 4.0 but not that many units, just meeting about 60 i believe. Very few activities like I only know of her in the honors society (Local and National memberships). But did not work b/c she was supported by a significant other. I don't know her sat scores, sorry, but she had very little time to prepare for them. But what gets me sad is that she chose UCLA w/ a crummy fin aid package. Due to circumstances blah blah. Sometimes I wonder if I should have taken a semester off mid way through my studies just to be pushed into the category of non traditional. But then again I'm pretty excited about school this fall. I guess advice to give for those who seek to transfer Ivy is get the perfect gpa. She also dropped two classes in her spring semester to maintain a perfect 4.0 because of the ucla regents.

oh btw she was a Community college student
