<p>Which prep. book is the best? Has Barrons got too much information (as usual)? Is Kaplan enough? I aim for 700+ at least, and being foreigner I know that chem is taught quite differently in the U.S... so preparation book matters a lot. Thanks</p>
<p>Princeton Review was good for me, BUT it's the only one I used, and I don't really know much about any other books. But the information it covered seemed pretty consistent with what was actually on the test.</p>

<p>sparknotes is short and works really well. Kaplan is alright..but it was a pain to read it.</p>

<p>That depends on how much chem knowledge you have already. For me, I took honors chem in 10th grade and I took Chem II as a Senior. So, I basically had to teach myself chem under two months. I first read Kaplan thinking that I'll be ready, but I wasn't. It might just have been that I didn't have sufficient Chem knowledge to start with, so I canceled my chem score the first time I took it. The following month, I read Sparknotes book and took 3-5 practice tests, by then, I was pretty much ready. So for me, Kaplan alone didn't prepare me to get 700+. I like the Sparknotes book a lot better. My suggestion is to read the Sparknotes, and take some practice test to see how you do. If you don't think you are ready, then read additional materials.</p>

<p>yeah, read sparknotes. Also, do lots of practice tests, if you are already in the low 700's, just target the areas you are lacking and do practice tests.</p>
<p>I used Sparknotes alone and got a 780. Took this after Honors Chemistry, no AP.</p>
