For those who transferred TO uc Berkeley or ucla, did your gpa fall?

For those who transferred to uc berkeley or ucla, your first semester at the university after cc, did you gpa take a small dive? I was wondering if ucla would be a lot harder depending on your major?

My GPA did not drop while at Cal, but I studied about three times more than at CCC (my first semester, at least, then I got used to the workload and rhythm). I do think it depends on the major.

Psychobiology major here at UCLA.

Nope, GPA is still a 4.00. Of course I had to step my game up a bit, but not a big deal. It does depend on the major.

@RheeL3: What do you think about the polisci majors at UCLA? Are they difficult or is it another instance of ‘you reap what you sow’?

@RheeL3 you’re awesome! i am so inspired!

Thanks much! Good luck to you this upcoming term!!

To UCLAboundandown: All the UCLA PoliSci students I’ve met are super competitive, obviously. A bunch of them want to go onto law school which is why, but they are a super smart bunch! I haven’t taken any PoliSci course so I wouldn’t be able to give you the 411 about that, but hope that’s enough, lol!

I also have to add that I have things that keep me busy, which is why I don’t sleep a lot, it’s not all about my courses. Of course I do allot a bunch of time for homework and studying but I also have a job on campus which is 20 hours a week and I have a research assistance position in a Psychology lab which I just realized I go there for more than 15 hours a week ): AND I very recently got an internship in the Semel Institute/RR Hospital…so I’m definitely keeping busy! I hope this inspires you all, because it is possible! Just get some time management skills!
