For those who went to Summer Transitions Orientation

Ok, so I was planning on going to the May 30th orientation. But what exactly did you guys do? Did you talk to an adviser for registering for classes? Let me know the details please....

Thanks

i got there at 830 they did presentations on different systems, requirements, programs that ucsb offers until 12 and then you got to meet with your advisers at 1 and they tell what classes you need to take to summer to start taking upper division courses in the fall

you can also get your id picture taken and get your id card. It was worth going and you have a chance to meet some people that you will probably see in the summer

yeah i met some people like cal, was disspointed that pretty much all the classes were full so i really ouldn't talk to my department advisor on what to take for summer and i guess even fall. I think they said you have to 20 20 units of upper division courses so i'll have to seee if any one of those classes are available. Thinking of switching to session B though.

calvin..was your id card black and white..i got mine and then i looked at the picture of the id cards at that desk and they had pictures of the school on them and they were in color and i was like *** is this lol?

haha yeah mine is in black and white. I hope thats not the " transfer student " id hahahha jk.

yeah maybe its just for summer or something idk...pretty cheap looking though my CCC one looks way nicer than that

I haven't gotten the ACCESS card yet, but as I read from the handbook they gave us, the colored one is the one that you use like a debit card, you put money into it and you can use it around the campus for food and stuff.

i just read that on there lol...i guess ill get the real thing on the 30th

So who's all goin' on the 30th?

don't know if orientation si going to be like the summer transition thing, probably will be. I'm only going so i can register for classes early.

im going on the 30th

im going too

Wow, that was boring! Lots of stuff that we could've learned just by looking at the website.

yea, going on the 30th too, hope it won't be boring

woo! . . . i went on the 30th. it's weird how we all talk on here and then when we're actually at SB we probably don't even know who is who....crazay! lol
That is smart you all got your ACCESS cards when you were there. I didn't even know about it until I got home and read it in that pamphlet thing.

For a lot of us that went on the 16th, its funny because a lot of us recognized eachother from the facebook group and we all ended up meeting eachother

so was there a lot of people who went on the 30th? since most people on here i think went on the 16th.

I went on the 30th!

any one from the engineering? since there were only 4 of us
