For those who were accepted--Will you be attending?

Unfortunately I haven't heard back yet. But a number of you have. I'm wondering, are you guys planning to attend? Or are you applying to more schools RD?
As for me--if I get in, I'll be SOOOO psyched, but not positive about attending. I'm applying to Northwestern, Georgetown, etc, and will hear (again) from Duke in April. So I won't know until the spring. How about you guys?

I’m definitely going! The location and school have everything in terms of my career path…and because of megabus and amtrak i’ll still be able to return home for the holidays!

My daughter was accepted to Cornell ED on Dec. 9. She thought she had withdrawn from Michigan, but was still admitted. She was hoping to give up her spot, if she had one, so that someone else from OOS could be admitted. To no avail. she will pull out as soon as possible.

Its all going to come down to the amount of money I can scrape up from scholarships, financial aid, etc. I would love to go to UMich and hope to visit the campus soon.

I am in to Georgia Tech for BME as well & am waiting to hear back form UConn, UVA, Tufts, Rice, Duke, JHU, Columbia.

EDIT: I’m OOS btw

I am the same as Hacktacular- waiting on scholarships and financial aid. I am also waiting on about ten other schools so we’ll see what happens

really depends… seeing how I was rejected to uchicago for ea, i’ll mostly likely to be rejected from the ivy leagues & northwestern to which I’m applying rd, so it’s all down to UMich or UIUC for me. I’ve visited michigan and loved it to bits, but I have yet to visit uiuc and frankly I’d be better off for uiuc for my intended major/field (communication - specifically advertising)… so unless I really hate UIUC after my visit (hopefully during spring break), I probably won’t be going to umich. I’m international so it’d be too expensive as well :(

I’m OOS and was accepted but I’m declining because I got into Duke E.D.

Probably! And I’m so excited! Ann Arbor is an awesome place to be. :)

I’d likely go unless I get accepted to UCLA for engineering.
I got into Michigan engineering and that is personally my number 1 choice but my parents are practically begging me to stay in California (not financial reasons, just safety)
But I will visit Michigan and hopefully they may be convinced that Michigan is safe and good!

I got into Michigan and will go there.
It has always been my favorite school and I never entertained any other options.

waiting on chapel hill. If that does not go as planned then… lets go wolverines!

@ volcano, what do you mean by safety? As in the surrounding area?

Please get off the safety issue already e5volcano. You are making it sound like Ann Arbor is a dangerous place. Ann Arbor is safer than Westwood and Santa Monica. I have a feeling that your parents just don’t want you to leave your area. I mean Santa Monica to Westwood? You might as well live at home. I will say that if cost is the biggest consideration, then it wouldn’t make much sense to attend Michigan even though Michigan is superior to UCLA in engineering. If they are really concerned about safety, then have them visit with you as well. You all will find that Ann Arbor is a lively, fun, and safe city and a wonderful place to spend your college years.

I’m sorry that I can’t post my reasons in a forum anymore. Perhaps you need to get off your high horse, rjk.

Given that admission to even more selective universities is very difficult given the ever-increasing competition, I’d say I will probably be attending Michigan.

I am not insulting you e5volvano. You don’t understand. There are many people who read this site that might think Ann Arbor is not safe based on your remarks. You are not from here and have never even visited. Look at how someone from Mass. responded:

“@ volcano, what do you mean by safety? As in the surrounding area?”

Once again I can assure you that Ann Arbor is safe.

I would love to but unfortunately I don’t know how much money they are going to give an OOS student on the lower end of the acceptance scale like me… I’m hoping!

Oh by the way, are we required to do anything (such as pay an enrollment deposit) anytime soon?

We just have to pay a $200 enrollment deposit by May 1 to secure our spots.

santa monica is a ****hole compared to ann arbor.
i don’t understand where you would even get the unsafe vibe from?
ann arbor =/= detroit, if thats what you’re thinking, but ann arbor is waaay far from detroit.

and fwiw, i would choose michigan over UCLA any day. i chose michigan with no aid oos over ucla with 10k in grants/scholarship IS. and i would make that same decision 100 times out of 100
