for those who were waitlisted

^ i think they called home or the cell phone.

GLOCKENSPIEL: when did they call you today? for which school ? SFS?

i got the call yesterday too to confirm my interest which of course I did hah - the admissions officer also asked about financial aid to me.

she called about 2 hours later saying i was in and that my stuff was in the mail… didn’t say anything about a financial aid package though!

can’t wait to go next yeaaaaaar!!

Sorry, I’ve been reeeally busy lately.

Yes, I’m off the waitlist! Was called on Thursday by Asst. Director, confirmed my interest, he said he would present my case before the committee, was 99.99%; then, at 1:33 PM PST, I was in! Should be getting materials by Monday or Tues., apparently. Did not hear word on financial aid package; I’m dying to know, though!

Good luck to everyone, congrats to those who are finally accepted!

LaVieEnChocolat: They first called me on Thursday around 6 pm EST to confirm my interest, then on Friday, I hadn’t received a call after waiting and waiting, so I emailed my admissions rep around 8 pm EST and she emailed back about 5 minutes later to tell me that I had been admitted into the College.

Good luck to your daughter!

I’m still waiting for SFS, I got the e-mail on the 28th…ahhh so anxious, it was my first choice and if I don’t get in, I’m going to my last choice school for financial reasons :(

glockenspiel: I’m wondering, are you referring to your regional admissions rep? I’ve been trying to find mine…

In case of my D get off the waitlist how does it work for housing?

Being admitted from the waitlist has no bearing on housing.

hey guys, congrats on your acceptances! did you guys write letters of continued interest after you got waitlisted? or were you able to just sit back and wait? thanks!

nah, i didnt ask anything financial when they called me
i just expressed that i would definately love to attend gtown

I think letters of continued interest are pretty important…

anyone got off the list today? are they done already?

Ealgian: Yes, I’m referring to the regional admissions rep.

Sigh. Yeah. I sent my letter out on Friday. I’m committed to the NYU Stern BPE program right now, and I’m pretty happy with it, but the other day it kind of hit me that I wouldn’t get a normal college campus experience, whereas Georgetown has both a campus and the city. Not to mention its academics are pretty awesome.

If they call, do they expect a concrete answer right away? Or do they allow you to wait until you receive the financial aid information? Thanks for your help guys.

Gah, waitlists!! I feel like I am eternally condemned to college limbo!!

I gave a concrete answer right away… and financial aid is an issue for me… so I don’t know.

Edited to Add: Thanks for the info Glockenspiel.

People who are still on the waitlist…where are you (at least temporarily) enrolled? I’m at UVa.

my D is at American! same location but very different college!

I’m enrolled at the University of Michigan currently.

You are expected to confirm that you are still interested in Georgetown. They didn’t mention anything about financial aid, we didn’t either.

I am currently (temporarily?) enrolled at NYU.
