Did that really answer, though? Mayhaps i'm just not reading it correctly...but didn't it just say that we HAD to know by December, not that we couldn't know sooner?

SHortens waiting time?!? they have lengthened waiting time for those who care to one date, dec 15, instead of telling us early if possible. The more reasonable decision would be to send out decisions up until dec15 in which all would be given some sort of a decision

(From Office of Admissions, rcvd today)

You will receive an admissions decision on December 15th since your file was complete within priority filing. This decision can be one of three options: admit, deny, and hold for final review. If you receive the third decision, then you can expect a final admissions decision on March 1st.

Thank you!

Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Records

It says on December 15th. I guess this confirms the removal of rolling admissions. I think they did this because it will slightly improve the student body by allowing good applicants who apply late to beat out lesser applicants who apply earlier. For the rest of us it just needlessly increases waiting time.

does this mean online our admissions status will stay "pending decision" until december.. is that what everyone else's says?!

My status just changed from Pending - Decision to "Pending - Manual Review Req". Is that bad? What does it mean? I applied to College of Eng.

cooljay136, what major in engineering did you apply for?

I know it's going to be really tight for Biomedical (but they do offer a second choice on the application).

I applied to General Eng. I think I got put on Manual Review because my school stopped putting rank on our applications this year.

My daughter's app has an Application Status of "Complete ready for review" and a Decision of "Pending Decision".

The rest of you that applied during the early admission period will have to let us know when you get something other than "pending". It's definitely not clear as to if the decisions will "roll in" up to Dec. 15th (so everyone will get either an accept/deny or a deferred until final review (March) BY that Dec. 15th date.... or if all that applied won't get that until Dec. 15th.

By the way - for the person questioning what "Pending - Manual Review Req" means - you can check www.oar.uiuc.edu/future/freshmen/app_status.html to see descriptions. It basically means special circumstances are present (e.g., transfer coursework, no high school rank provided, etc.).

Haha, my status is still "Incomplete Items Outstanding".

After looking at this http://www.oar.uiuc.edu/future/freshmen/app_status.html#complete , I'm pretty sure they will give you an unofficial decision. The decision box should go from "Complete-Ready for Review" to "Decision Made." Then in the box where it used to say pending, it will say
one of the following:

Decision List
Admit: Applicant admitted.
Admit - Alternative Choice: Applicant admitted to an alternate program.
Admit - College Reviewed: Applicant admitted through college review.
Applicant Accepts Offer: Applicant admitted and accepts offer.
Applicant Agrees to Wait List: Applicant agrees to wait list offer.
Applicant Declines Wait List: Applicant declines wait list offer.
Applicant Rejects Offer: Applicant admitted but declined offer.
Deny - Incomplete - Program Clsd: Application was incomplete when program closed.
Deny - Reviewed: Applicant not admitted.
Deny - Failed Special Requirement: Applicant not admitted due to failing special requirement.
Deny - Lower Division Denial: Applicant did not meet lower division transfer admission requirements.
Deny - Trans Courses/Hrs Not Met: Applicant did not meet course prerequisites.
Offered Wait List: Applicant placed on Wait List.
Petition Denied: Appeal was rejected.
Program Closed: Program not open at the level to which applicant applied.

Question:

Previously, it said "Application Status: Complete ready for review
Decision: Pending Decision "

But today it just switched to "Application Status: Complete ready for review
Decision: Complete-Ready for Review"

I know both mean they didn't decide yet, or something...but is there a reason they switched it?

My daughter's status did the same thing. On Thursday - it switched from Pending Decision to Complete-Ready to Review.

The big question is - will everyone have to wait until Dec. 15th to find out a decision - or if they'll start rolling in between now and then.

Hmm, looks like all we can do now is to wait till someone gets a decision before Dec 15.

I applied on nov 15 I knew like nov 28

Mine still says Pending Decision. It used to say Complete-Ready for Review for a short while after I completed my app but it's been at Pending Decision since then.

Iheartpacman, mine just did the same thing, i looked it up on their website and this is what it means...

Pending Decision: Application held for initial review.
Complete - Ready for Review: Application referred to committee for review.

so if i understand that right, we made it past the initial review, and now a committee is reviewing it further.. but who really knows, this could just be a generic one they give to everyone!

AAH! So happy if it did! I am soo soo uncertain about getting in!

Or maybe... like, what are your stats? My grades are bad but my ACT is semi-okay, so maybe like...it fit some categories and not others? So it needs to be reviewed by a committe? Or do they all do that?

summerstars, I believe Complete - Ready for Review is what you get right after you complete your app (i.e. get in your last requirement). I'm pretty sure I had that status BEFORE I had Pending Decision which leads me to believe Pending Decision is higher than Complete - Ready for Review. Or maybe Complete - Ready for Review is used twice: first for initial review and then for final review?

When they got all my information, the decision box said 'Complete- ready for review' then it switched to pending, then back to complete. But actually, i think it was my application STATUS that said complete, and the decision said pending... Eh.
