My portal is not showing my official ACT Composite Score - only the self-reported one. All the other official scores are there- ACT and SAT. I called Admissions and was told that UCD does not use the ACT Composite score(?). My composite score when converted is a little higher than my best SAT Reasoning. Is the response I received correct, or should I follow up.
Thank you.

The UCs do not use ACT composite. They add up your Math, Science and Reading scores and give it a .667 weight. For the remaining one-third they use your combined English+Writing score. That adds up to your UC composite (of sorts). Actually, UC then translates your ACT scores derived above to a UC score according to tables you will find under UC Eligibility.

pink feather is correct. UC Davis does not use your ACT composite score. We use a combination of the sections of the ACT plus Writing exam when reviewing your application. To see which of your SAT or ACT scores is the highest please use the UC Eligibility calculator at http://www.ucop.edu:8080/eligibilitycalc/begin.jsp . The highest UC score should be the exam we use.

To further complicate things, there is a huge problem with the Dec. 2008 ACT scores. There is a glitch with at least some of the scores having not interfaced between ACT and UC computers, so the official scores are not being shown. For example, my daughters 9/08 ACT is under the official scoring section, but the 12/08 scores are not. She did self-report the 12/08 scores. The UCAP office is trying to deal with this issue. And computers were supposed to make life easy????
